athlete you must be willing to put in the hard work and be dedicated to your success. It is also important for a player to have the expertise at his/her
disposal to help them reach their potential. It can be a coach, a trainer, and/or
a mentor. We have developed an athletic training
program that will help you become the best basketball player possible.
Elite level athletes have a group of people they trust to make them better. We
can do the same for you. At Bull Dawg Athletic Training we specialize in
working with the aspiring basketball athlete. We offer a number of
services to help basketball players both young and old.
We provide the following to the
basketball athlete:
Body mechanic evaluations - This is important in determining if their are any inherent physical weaknesses. We evaluate body alignment, gait analysis, or other issues that may impede the athlete's
development or leave them susceptible to injury. We recommend this to all athletes who are just starting a training program or coming back from injury.
Injury rehabilitation - Dr. Tammy
Robinson is a licensed DPT in physical therapy and can help diagnose and treat
all of your rehabilitation requirements. She is board certified and her work is reimbursable by medical insurance.
Strength Training and conditioning -
We develop strength that is functional to the game of basketball. Our goal is
to make you stronger as it relates to the basketball player. We understand that the strength requirements for the game
of basketball are different from other sports and we train you
that way.
Agility training - We can help you
move better, quicker and more efficiently through the use of drills and
exercises that are designed to improve coordination and reflexes.
Basketball Skill Development and training - Coach Kenny uses his vast
knowledge and expertise to help basketball players learn the fundamentals of
the game and more advanced players improve their use of those fundamentals
through specially designed drills and exercises.
Nutrition Counseling - What you eat is the cornerstone of building a strong
foundation for the athlete. This is where everything begins because good
nutrition is what help builds muscle, improve memory and provide the energy to
sustain the athlete during workouts and games. Kenny's holistic approach uses
simple, safe and proven nutritional methods to help the athlete eat for
optimum performance.
Yoga and Flexibility for basketball players
- The quickest route to injury is an inflexible body. Both Kenny and Tammy are
certified yoga instructors. Kenny has been using yoga since college and is a proponent of yoga for basketball athletes. Basketball players such as Lebron
James, Gilbert Arenas, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Reggie Miller, Alonzo Mourning and
Dwight Howard are just a few of the athletes who utilize yoga to keep their
game youthful and reduce the chances for injuries such as pulls and strains. Most professional team trainers include yoga as part of the athletes regular workout. Sport Psychology intervention to improve
performance - Kenny uses psychological tools such as imagery, self-talk,
relaxation and goal setting to improve athletic performance. Are you in a
