What are the components of a functional training program?
- A training program that integrates a variety of exercises that work on flexibility, balance, core stability and increase overall strength and power.
- It is progressive and increases in strength requirements and intensity as you improve from workout to workout.
- The training needs to fit into their competitive cycle or their program and it should vary through out the year to achieve optimal results, peaking for the season.
- The program should be individualized for your needs, weaknesses and abilities. The only way to do this is hire a coach or trainer who specializes in your particular sport.
